FAQ

Answers, including the ones that are still “not yet”.

We haven’t launched, so some answers are “we’ll publish it before you can pay”. We’d rather say that than guess.

Plans and billing

When can I order?

Not yet. These pages describe the service we’re preparing. Email us and we’ll tell you when ordering opens.

How does billing work?

Monthly, in US dollars, paid in advance, with no contract. You can cancel any time and the server keeps running until the end of the period you paid for. The full details go in the terms before anyone is charged.

Is there a free trial?

We haven’t decided. If there is one at launch, it will be on the pricing page with its limits spelled out.

Which plan should I pick?

4 GB for vanilla or Paper with a few plugins. 8 GB Modded for a modpack. If you’re unsure, send us the pack link and we’ll say which.

Do you offer refunds?

The refund policy isn’t decided yet. It goes in the terms before anyone is charged.

Can I upgrade or downgrade later?

Plan switching is planned, not confirmed for launch. We aim to keep your world when changing RAM; downgrades depend on the world and mods fitting in 4 GB.

What does Custom cost?

It depends on the RAM and how many servers. Tell us what you run and we’ll send a price in writing before you pay anything.

Minecraft, mods and versions

How does the modpack install work?

On 8 GB Modded, send a CurseForge or Modrinth link. We remove client-only mods, set memory flags and boot it until the log is clean.

Which Minecraft versions can I run?

On Java, any version your server software supports, including older ones for packs that need them. Bedrock clients update themselves, so a Bedrock server has to follow Mojang’s current release.

Can I change the version or server software later?

Yes. We can do it for you, or you can do it yourself with the files and console. Take a backup first: worlds can move to newer versions but not back, and removing a mod removes its blocks. Read the guide

Can I install my own plugins and mods?

Yes. You get the console and the files, so you can add plugins to Paper or mods to a modded server yourself. If something won’t load, send us the log. Read the guide

Can I bring an existing world?

Yes. Upload the world folder, or send it to us and we’ll set it up. Tell us which version it was last played on, since a world can’t be opened in an older version.

Do you support Bedrock?

Yes, on every plan. Modpacks are Java only. For a mixed group we plan to offer a Java server with Geyser so Bedrock players can join.

Can console players join?

Consoles only list featured servers by default, so joining a custom server takes a workaround that differs by platform. Ask us before you plan around console players.

Do you host other games?

Not yet. Minecraft comes first. Valheim, Palworld, Rust, Terraria and Project Zomboid are on the list, with no dates.

Backups and your data

How do backups work?

Daily automatic backups are included on every plan. How long we keep them, and how restores work in the panel, will be published before ordering opens. Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose, too. Read the guide

Can I download my world and files?

Yes, any time. They’re yours. After you cancel you can still download them for a limited period, which we’ll state in the terms.

Network and reliability

Where are the servers?

North America first. The city and a test address go up before ordering opens, so you can check your ping before paying anything.

Do you have DDoS protection?

We’re looking at TCPShield for Java traffic, but the provider and what it would cover aren’t confirmed. We won’t call servers protected until they are.

Is there an uptime guarantee?

No. We aim to keep servers up and to announce planned maintenance in advance, but there is no SLA at launch.

Support

How do I get help?

Email us. Include your server address, version, software and the log, and we can usually skip the back-and-forth. What to include

Which languages do you support?

English and Turkish. Write in either and a person replies in the same language.

Is there a Discord?

Not yet. When it opens, the link goes in the menu. Until then, email is how to reach us.

Java or Bedrock?

Choose the edition your group actually plays. Java mods and Bedrock add-ons are different systems. Cross-play needs a compatible setup and should be discussed before choosing server software.

Moving an existing world

Keep a separate copy of your world before any move. Tell us the edition, Minecraft version and software that created it. Opening a world in a different version or removing mods can change it permanently.

Modpacks and plugins

Send the exact pack name, version and a download link when asking about setup. Plugins normally need compatible server software; a Java mod loader is not a substitute for a plugin server.

Plans and availability

Ordering is not open yet. Prices are published so you can plan ahead. The first month is 30% off; subsequent months use the published recurring price.

Questions before you start

Can I order today?

Not yet. Contact hello@wispdock.com for launch questions.

How much RAM do I need?

It depends on the pack, world, active players and settings. Send those details rather than relying only on a player count.

Can I get help in Turkish?

English and Turkish support are part of the planned service.

Is the game panel live?

No. The panel and billing area are coming soon.
